It all started over a family dinner.
Our mom had just reached the age where reading glasses became a part of daily life — but she’d rather squint at menus and hold cookbooks inches from her face than wear the generic pairs from the drugstore. She swore those heavy, drab frames made her feel “ten years older the second she put them on.”
We searched far and wide, and found the same story everywhere: reading glasses were uniformly stiff, dated, and one-note. As if once you reach a certain point in life, you no longer deserve to look good — or to own little, lovely things that make you happy.
That didn’t sit right with us.
This is the stage of life where you finally have time for what you love: the books you’ve been meaning to finish, the garden you tend to, afternoon tea with friends, storytime with your grandkids. These soft, luminous moments deserve glasses that live up to them.
